SIM Capital Area Chapter Donates to The TGB Foundation

The TGB Foundation is honored to have received such a generous donation from SIM – Capital Area Chapter in Washington, D.C.! The donation was presented to the foundation at the annual Member Appreciation dinner, an event that is highly anticipated year after year.

“I’m so grateful for the support of such an amazing group of big hearted people like the members of SIM – Capital Area Chapter. Their support of STEM programs and Robotics through The TGB Foundation are providing under-served rural community kids access to technology skills that can change the trajectory of their future. And we’ve only just begun,” said TGB President & Executive Director, Christen Black.

Through our STEM-based programs, we’re giving kids a glimpse into how I.T. can be a pathway to independence. Our technology enablement camps have been supported by Google in the form of teaching aid for their Grasshopper software. The camp also incorporates Scratch coding and robotics education, which makes programming easy and fun for children. This offers kids a way to gain the confidence required for them to handle life’s challenges on their own… a chance for independence.

Giving back to the community is a big part of SIMCAC’s mission, aligning directly with TGB’s mission to provide opportunity for kids to live their best lives. The TGB Foundation is thrilled to provide programs that enrich the lives of youth in rural America to encourage self-sufficiency and inclusivity… ensuring their future is bright.
